Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
— Luke 10:2 (KJV)

Missions Ministry

Our Missions Ministry focuses on proclaiming the Gospel at the Church-level. This is in obedience to the Great Commission given by the Lord Jesus himself in Matthew 28:19.

We aim to bring the Gospel to the Ang Mo Kio Neighbourhood and beyond through regular Gospel Meetings and other Outreach initiatives. We also organise special events like the Vacation Bible School to teach God's truths and values to young children in a faithful and engaging way. Wherever possible, we participate in efforts to bring the gospel also to foreign lands.

Gospel Meetings

Each year, we use special public holidays like Good Friday and Christmas as opportunities to spread the Gospel to unbelieving relatives and friends. Though personal invitation is the best way to bring others to hear the gospel, the church also carries out tracting in the neighbourhood to reach out to the residents nearby. Messages in both English and Mandarin are sounded forth at the same time in 2 separate meetings. Lunch is usually catered after the meeting to provide opportunities to interact with and know the visitors better.

Every year in May, we also have a special gospel event to reach out to our own parents and loved ones. This Parents Day Gospel meeting is usually held in an outside venue like a restaurant and the message in Mandarin is followed by a sumptuous meal. The meal is one way for our members to show love and appreciation to their parents and loved ones.

Vacation Bible School

Every year in early December, Vacation Bible School is held in our church for children from nursery to Primary 6. This is open to children from both within and outside the church. We believe in evangelising to our own children even though we believe that our children are born into the covenant and fully trust in God’s faithful promise to save them. Yet, we know that we must spare no effort in instructing them in the faith and bring the gospel to them continually. The VBS is on top of the weekly Catechism Instruction classes we have for our children.

In addition, we also uses the VBS as an avenue to reach out to children outside of the church. These may be children of relatives and friends as well as children from the neighbourhood. To facilitate the attendance of the young ones, transport can be arranged to pick up and drop off these children from their homes. In the past couple of years, we even have children from Johor Bahru joining our VBS. This is in part due to the effort by some of our church members who goes up to Johor Bahru on a monthly basis to conduct Bible lessons for some children there.

Penang Vacation Bible School

Every quarter, a team of young people from our church goes up to Penang to conduct Vacation Bible School for a group of children from a fishing village in Balik Pulau. This work is part of the support we give to the Covenant Grace Church (our Sister Church in Penang). This outreach programme focus on bringing the gospel message in mandarin to children from unbelieving families aged 7 and above. Besides teaching them God’s word through simple lessons, we also enjoy fellowship with them through the singing of songs and the playing of games.
