So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
— Romans 10:17 (KJV)
As believers, we ought to pray persistently and with the right intentions - not merely for daily needs or personal comforts, but for God’s will in salvation, holiness, and the advancement of His Kingdom. Jesus modeled regular, dependent prayer - praying for strength, his disciples, and that God’s will be done over His. He taught the Lord’s Prayer to shape our petitions toward forgiveness, daily sustenance for faithful service, deliverance from temptation, and spiritual growth. True prayer addresses God as Father, seeks spiritual things over fleshly desires, and eagerly looks towards God to answer us when we ask with wholehearted trust, persistence, and a desire for God's glory.
