So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Bible text: John 2
Speaker: Pastor Mark Chen
Evening Service

In this sermon, we explore two contrasting events that inaugurated Jesus’ ministry and pointed to two greater feasts. At Cana, Jesus performed His first miracle by turning water into wine, which pointed to Him as the ultimate Joy-giver and revealed His divine authority. This pointed to God's promise of salvation and the removal of sorrow. Next, Jesus revealed Himself during the cleansing of the Jewish temple, revealing His righteous anger towards the corruption of His temple and the perversion of worship. This pointed to His ultimate role as the true Priest who came to restore the sanctity of God's house. Jesus' actions are a fulfillment of His mission to bring about true joy and the ultimate Passover, revealing His glory to those who truly believe.
