So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
— Romans 10:17 (KJV)
During Christmas, Christians commemorate the coming of their saviour, Jesus Christ, into the world. For others, Christmas is almost singularly characterised by a time of revelry and spending. Most have forgotten-or do not know, how they should respond to this season.
How did various people respond to Jesus when He entered the world about 2000 years ago? Matthew chapter 2 tells of many responses of people ranging from desire and devotion, to desperation and destruction.
Should we all perhaps re-consider what the birth of Christ means to us? Is He the King we honour, one for which we would disobey others in order to defer to? Or do we loathe the mention of His name and continually disobey Him?
